Normal Findings in Radiography. T.B. Moeller, ed. Thieme; 2000, 276 pages, 190 radiographs, $44.95.
A “bare bones” (no pun intended) 276-page soft-cover pocket book, Normal Findings in Radiography, describes normal radiography of the skull, spine, upper and lower extremities, chest, and abdomen; mammography; gastrointestinal series; arthrography; arteriography; venography; myelography; bronchography; and several other special examinations. Some normal measurements in each of these areas are included. A number of these plain radiographs are a bit anachronistic in this era of CT and MR imaging—like Schuller and Stenver’s view of the petrous bone, lymphangiography, and measuring the choroidal point on a vertebral arteriogram. Perhaps a first-year resident may find this of some passing value in adjusting to routine radiography early in training.
