The Radiology Department at the University of North Carolina currently has an opening for an ACGME accredited fellowship position in Diagnostic Neuroradiology for the 2016-17 academic year. Our fellowship program trains 4 diagnostic neuroradiology fellows each year. Fellows work closely with the faculty of the Neuroradiology Division, which includes 6 diagnostic CAQ-holding neuroradiologists and is headed by Dr. Mauricio Castillo, MD, FACR, former editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Neuroradiology, past president of the American Society of Neuroradiology, and President-Elect of the American Roentgen Ray Society.
Fellows rotate regularly through core services including Brain imaging, ENT/Spine imaging, and outpatient imaging throughout the year. Fellows also spend 6 weeks out of the year with the Division of Neurointerventional Radiology, helmed by Dr. Sten Solander. During the second half of the year, fellows participate in a rotation dedicated to Spine Intervention and Pain Management and are given up to 3 weeks of time for electives.
Each fellow receives 3 weeks of paid vacation + an additional week off over the winter holidays and can also take up to a week off for meeting attendance.
